Driving Safety Forward: Highlights from Our CarPlay Session at EurOmnis 2025
At this year’s EurOmnis developer conference, Logical Developments had the opportunity to present a deep dive into Apple’s CarPlay framework—an area of growing importance for modern mobile workflows. The session was exceptionally well received by Omnis developers from around the globe, highlighting both the relevance of in-vehicle technology and the practical ways it can improve safety, productivity, and user experience.
CarPlay, along with Android Auto, was created to reduce risk on the road. Instead of interacting directly with a mobile device—a proven source of distraction—drivers are presented with a simplified, voice-driven interface displayed through the car’s own infotainment system. The platform enforces strict safety rules: no custom UI, no distracting animations, and no workflows that require more than a glance and minimal interaction. Everything is built on pre-approved templates designed with universal ergonomics in mind. This makes CarPlay not just a convenience, but a purposeful safety tool that reduces cognitive load and keeps attention where it belongs—on the road.
For industries like transport and logistics, where mobile apps are essential to daily operations, this has become especially significant. At Logical Developments, we see CarPlay as an opportunity to help drivers complete essential tasks—starting navigation, viewing their next job, or updating their status—without compromising safety or compliance. During the EurOmnis session, we shared how we are integrating CarPlay support into an upcoming version of ConNote Mobile, bringing key driver workflows directly into the vehicle’s dashboard. The goal is simple: reduce distraction, streamline the workflow, and allow drivers to remain productive while safely focused on driving.
Importantly, this approach is not limited to ConNote. The same techniques demonstrated at EurOmnis can be applied across Logical Developments’ other mobile-enabled systems, including our Charter app, where drivers and operators benefit from clear, consistent, safety-first interactions. Whether it’s transport bookings, freight movements, or vehicle-based workflows, CarPlay and Android Auto offer a safer and more intuitive way to deliver critical information.
As in-vehicle technology continues to evolve, we’re committed to ensuring our solutions evolve with it—bringing safer, smarter, and more efficient mobile experiences to our customers. The strong response at EurOmnis confirms that we’re on the right path, and we look forward to sharing more as development progresses.
